What is the Shropshire Condom Distribution Scheme?

The Shropshire Condom Distribution Scheme (CDS) is a confidential service which provides free condoms for young people aged 13 to 25 years. This means that you can discuss personal information in confidence with anyone who works within the CDS. We will not discuss your information with anyone else without your permission. We would only pass on any information to protect you or someone else from serious harm. Wherever possible, we would discuss this with you first.

You will then be given your own C-card which you can then use to pick up free condoms from lots of places in Shropshire. These include over 40 community pharmacies.

To join the scheme, visit a registration point. See the link to the right of the page for a list of venues.

Your card will have an expiry date. When it expires, you will need to go back to a registration point to have a quick chat with a health professional and get it re-activated.

You can find out more about sexual health in general by talking to your practice doctor or nurse, going to Sexual Health Services - for clinic times click here or by speaking to your school or college nurse.

Useful websites which provide information about sexual health and relationships include; Brook and NHS Choices: Sex - Worth Talking About.
