Recovery Walk 2018: Vote Now!
The Recovery Walk is an annual event that aims to celebrate recovery and freedom from drug and alcohol dependence. Held in September, as part of International Recovery Month, people from all over the country come together to provide hope and inspiration to those who are struggling to overcome their drug and alcohol misuse.
Next year marks the 10th anniversary of the walk in the UK and Shrewsbury is bidding to be the host town. Your support is needed to bring the Recovery Walk to Shropshire.
Hosting the Recovery Walk in Shrewsbury will mean so much more than just the day itself it would be a real catalyst for the continued development of effective recovery from drug and alcohol dependence in our county. The event will raise awareness of drug and alcohol dependency and challenge the stigma linked with substance misuse, demonstrating that recovery is possible.
The event is overseen by FAVOR UK, a national charity and voting for Shrewsbury could not be easier. Please support Shropshire's bid by following the link below and select Shrewsbury, the process will only take a few seconds:
Voting is open now and will close at 12.00pm, Friday 28th July.
Please note that the voting process is subject to an IP restriction which allows only one single vote from any one IP address.
Each computer connected to the internet has at least one IP address that uniquely identifies it from all other computers on the internet. Computers in a workplace may share very similar IP addresses. The restriction is intended to prevent voting abuse, by stopping individuals voting more than once. However, it also appears to be preventing numerous colleagues in a single workplace from voting legitimately.
With this in mind we're encouraging people to vote via a home computer (which will have a different IP address) or a hand held device.
Roll-ups are just as unhealthy as manufactured cigarettes.
